As the holiday season approaches, Duravant’s 'Doing Good' program gains even more significance. Many charitable organizations supporting those in need receive a sizeable portion of their donations during this special time of year and, as families gather to spend time together, it’s an ideal opportunity to reflect on the things we are thankful for and think about how we can take action to make the season a little better for others.
Over the past eight years, Duravant companies have partnered with Ronald McDonald House Charities. Throughout the year, we've engaged in various initiatives such as collecting travel toiletries, pop tabs, participating in the 'Meals From The Heart' program, and making monetary donations to address diverse needs.
During this holiday season, and in coordination with our ongoing 'Doing Good' initiatives, every operating company under the Duravant banner has contributed to its respective local Ronald McDonald House Chapter.
Why Ronald McDonald House Charities?
For many families, a child's serious illness or injury necessitates extensive travel and a lengthy stay for treatment. This extended period away from home can be emotionally challenging for families. Providing a ‘home-away-from-home,' Ronald McDonald Houses allow families to stay close to their hospitalized child at little or no cost.
These houses operate on a simple principle: in the face of a serious medical crisis, nothing should distract the family from focusing on their child's health. Ronald McDonald Houses operate with the belief that, when a child is hospitalized, the love and support of family is as powerful as the strongest medicine prescribed.
