Discover how the Marelec PORTIO B elevates Egatesa's productivity through precision cuts and enhanced efficiency.
Their primary objective was to enhance the quality of their product cuts and improve overall productivity, prompting their collaboration with Marelec.
Initially, Egatesa utilized various portioning machines, but encountered the challenge to cut primals into a combination of fixed weight and fixed thickness portions. Implementing the PORTIO B significantly enhanced Egatesa's hourly productivity in the portioning of beef and pork enabling precise cutting at fixed weights, with or without bones, ensuring a clean cut. The strategic placement of three cameras and a laser combination in the machine guarantees thorough scanning of the irregular shape of the product, effectively preventing blind spots in the edges and enabling Egatesa to produce up to 1800 kg of meat per hour.
Since 1982, we've supplied meat products to the Canary Islands, adapting to the shift from traditional butcher shops to self-service stores. To meet modern demands, we use advanced technology for meat handling, filleting, and tray presentation, including protective atmosphere and vacuum packaging. As the main suppliers to Mercadona, Lidl, and Hiperdino, we needed versatile solutions, which Marelec provided. Their machine efficiently cuts bones and various meats to different thicknesses and fixed weights, aligning perfectly with our focus on fixed-weight trays. We're very satisfied with Marelec's solution.
