In a pursuit of heightened efficiency, Avicola Focsani sought to automate their batching process, transitioning from manual weight combinations to an automated system provided by MARELEC. This commitment to efficiency and precision is further exemplified by MARELECs design of multiple grading systems, facilitating the simultaneous sorting of fillets, legs, thighs, drums, and wings to meet the demands of a continuous and high-paced production environment.
Ferma Vranceana blends modern technology with generations-old family traditions to revolutionize poultry farming. Boasting state-of-the-art hatcheries and cultivating grain-fed birds in the seismic-abundant region of Vrancea, Romania, Ferma Vranceana is committed to delivering poultry products of unparalleled quality.
The manual creation of trays weighing 500 to 650 grams for local supermarkets and retail stores posed a significant challenge for Avicola Focsani. The cumbersome process involved combining weights manually, relying on a weighing scale, and attempting to meet specific tolerance criteria. Recognizing the inefficiencies and room for error in this manual approach, the company sought to address the issue by automating the entire process.
Avicola Focsani was committed to enhancing efficiency through automation of the batching process, and MARELEC offered them a smooth integration. When the poultry parts are directly received from the cut-up line, a continuous process sorts at the same time the fillets, thighs, drums, and wings in different batches. With a focus on efficiency, MARELEC prioritizes the number of batches created per minute and ensures an ergonomic design for seamless product styling by operators. The system includes an automatic outfeed belt, expediting the transportation of trays to the checkweighing and sealing steps. If a tray has a small under- or overweight, they are kicked out of the stream to be reworked manually.
We decided to work with MARELEC because their well-known brand is closely aligned with the Avicola philosophy and is associated with high-value solutions. The distributor's local roots, which guarantee first-line support in an emergency, played a big role in our choice. We have been using their line since the beginning of 2022 and are really satisfied with the yields.

Avicola Focsani specializes in producing trays tailored for local supermarkets and retail outlets, ranging from 500 to 650 grams. While supermarkets accept catchweight, their focus on fixed weight trays aims for a higher market value, narrowing the acceptable weight range and aligning closely with market demands.
